< Back eKartingNews.com Driver of the Month: December 2021 – Jeremy Fletcher Ekartingnews Jan 18, 2021 Florida driver becomes second ever to win twice on SuperSunday at SKUSA SuperNationals 24 Jeremy Fletcher was named EKN Driver of the Month for December 2021 after three wins on the month at two events In a continued effort to highlight the many outstanding performances by drivers around the country, eKartingNews.com is proud to introduce the ‘Driver of the Month’ program. Each month, the staff at EKN will determine the one driver who stood out above the rest and give the viewers a chance to know exactly what they accomplished and who they are. December 2021 was the much-anticipated return of the Superkarts! USA SuperNationals, with the 24th edition of the event moving to a new date and new location. Nearly 500 karters from around the world converged on the Las Vegas Motor Speedway between December 1-5. It was 742 days between the SuperSunday of 2019 and the SuperSunday of 2021 with the COVID-19 pandemic forcing the cancellation of the event in 2020. A part of history was made for SuperNationals 24 in Vegas thanks to Florida driver Jeremy Fletcher. The KA100 Junior division was added to the SKUSA SuperNationals in 2018, providing a second Junior category for competitors to take part. Fletcher was among those to pull double duty, and was near the front in both. The KA100 class began for Fletcher by qualifying sixth. The veteran charged forward in the opening two heats, driving to the win in both. He ended up third in the final heat race, securing the pole position for the main event on SuperSunday. Fletcher jumped out to the lead and sat there for the first 22 laps. As he led, Texas driver Helio Meza worked up to second and sat on his bumper. Meza pulled the trigger prior to receiving the white flag. On the final lap entering turn four, Fletcher fought back and was able to grab back the top position. The two made contact on the exit of turn four. Meza ended up smacking the wall, as Fletcher caught air from the impact with Helio. Fletcher continued while Meza was forced to retire. Jeremy went on to take the checkered flag, securing his first SuperNationals victory. That was only half the battle as Fletcher jumped in his X30 Junior OTK machine later in the day. Fletcher began the event by qualifying second overall in the category. Starting on the outside of the front row was a tough task, but Fletcher fought strong all three heat races. He finished the opener in third but was given a three-second penalty for blocking to drop him to seventh after posting fast lap of the race. Jeremy led the opening eight laps of Heat #2 yet ended up in third. Two separate penalties, including a pushback bumper, dropped him to 11th in the final classification. The third heat was another with Fletcher up front, this time crossing the line second and advancing up as the winner after penalties. All that action lined him up in fifth in the order on SuperSunday. It only took three laps before Fletcher took over the point in the 24-lap main event. Fighting behind him, along with consistent lap times in clean air helped to establish a solid lead. By the checkered flag, Fletcher created a four-second advantage for the victory. With a second victory on SuperSunday, Fletcher joined four-time SuperNationals winner Connor De Phillippi as the only driver to win two separate main events at the same SuperNats event. The two wins by Fletcher puts him halfway to the top of all-time win list that includes De Phillippi, Billy Musgrave, and Kip Foster – all with four victories at the SuperNationals. Prior to the calendar turning over, Fletcher made his official jump up to the Senior level at the World Karting Association Daytona KartWeek event, annually held during the December 28-30 time period at the Daytona International Speedway. Jeremy competed in the KA100 Senior division, qualifying second for Day 1 and Day 2 action during the timed sessions at the end of practice day. Fletcher came out and won the Day 1 Prefinal, securing the pole position for the main event. He led the first 14 laps before slipping to the second spot, where he would finish. During the Day 2 Prefinal, Jeremy slipped back to sixth on the opening lap, fighting back to third with fast lap of the race. Early shuffling opened the Final before Fletcher established himself as the race leader. He led 14 of the 16 laps to secure his first Senior victory. He also added one podium in the Briggs 206 class, placing third in the Final on Day 2. Fletcher makes history with EKN, becoming the second driver to be named Driver of the Month in the same year, having gained the honor back in March for his winning performances at the SKUSA Pro Tour WinterNationals and United States Pro Kart Series opener (Brent Crews earned honor twice in 2017). Fletcher is kicking off the 2022 season with double duty at the SKUSA Winter Series, sitting fourth in KA100 Senior standings thanks to a runner-up finish on Sunday and 14th in X30 Senior with a best result of fourth on Saturday, including fast lap of the race. He followed that up with a victory in the VLR Senior division at the Florida Winter Tour opener, also placing ninth in ROK Senior. Jeremy is slated to compete at the SKUSA Pro Tour, United States Pro Kart Series, IAME USA Grand National Championship and local club events in 2022. • Timely Pass Nets Fletcher Mazda MX-5 Cup Race Win at VIR | Jeremy Fletcher Raci

< Back Timely Pass Nets Fletcher Mazda MX-5 Cup Race Win at VIR IMSA Aug 24, 2025 Race 1 Results ALTON, Va. – Round 11 of the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin at VIRginia International Raceway was all about timing. The action-packed race had numerous off-course excursions leaving the drivers to wonder each time ‘are we going to go yellow?’ Jeremy Fletcher (No. 22 McCumbee McAleer Racing) timed his race perfectly, taking over the lead just before the final full-course caution that brought the race to an end. The Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup had already seen its share of incidents at VIR in the lead up to Saturday’s race. Two-time champion Gresham Wagner (No. 81 RAFA Racing by MMR) made contact with the wall in Turn 9 in qualifying, necessitating lots of repair work and new tires, putting him at the back of the grid. Another two-time champion, Jared Thomas (No. 96 JTR Motorsports Engineering) had an off-course excursion into the tire wall in qualifying as well. It happened before he could turn in a true flying lap, so he started an uncharacteristic 13th on the grid. Rookie Justin Adakonis (No. 23 McCumbee McAleer Racing) started from pole, but it was the BSI Racing teammates starting from the second row that worked together to take over the lead on the opening lap. Tyler Gonzalez (No. 57 BSI Racing) got a helpful push from teammate Westin Workman (No. 13 BSI Racing) that put Gonzalez into the lead and Workman second before the first full-course caution was issued. A second full-course caution came out very shortly after the race was restarted. Continuing his bad day, Thomas made hard contact with the wall in Turn Three where his race ended. When green flag racing resumed, the lead pack became a BSI Racing versus MMR battle. Working together, Gonzalez and Workman could pull away, until an MMR interloper crashed the party. This happened with less than 20 minutes to go as Nate Cicero (No. 83 McCumbee McAleer Racing) moved into second and briefly into the lead. He brought Fletcher with him, who also took his turn at the front, but Workman and Gonzalez were a formidable duo and he could not hold the spot for long. Fletcher took the lead again, in the Uphill Esses, with five minutes to go. As he did so a car came to a stop in Turn 17. The whole pitlane was fixated, waiting to see if the car would get going again or if the yellow flags would come out again. As the field entered the set of turns known as “Rollercoaster,” the safety car was deployed and the race effectively came to an end as there was only three and a half minutes left on the clock. Fletcher took the checkered flag behind the pace car. “I think Tyler [Gonzalez] and Weston [Workman] did a really good job of controlling the pack and keeping themselves at the front the entire time,” Fletcher said. “And I think the MMR side of that struggled, but I was just happy I could keep myself in that pack, keep the car cool and get it done in the end. Fletcher swept last year’s races at VIR and now continues that streak. “I don’t know (why I’m successful at this track),” Fletcher said. “The worst part is, it’s not even my favorite track, so maybe it should be. Everything kind of played in my favor there. I had good restarts. The McCumbee McAleer Racing, Simpson Racing Products, Paene Investments and Holster Store car was rolling this weekend for sure! Hopefully we can go four for four.” Previous Next

  • Copy of About | Jeremy Fletcher Raci

This website follows Jeremy Fletcher, a young racecar driver whom is quickly moving up the ranks in motorsports. As here you can find his results, racing tips, onboard videos, and more. About Me. Hi, I’m Jeremy Fletcher, a professional racecar driver from St. Cloud, Florida. Racing has always been a huge part of my life—my grandfather initially got me into karting at the age of 4. As a kid, I used racing as an escape from my personal life and it really let me leave behind my not-so-ideal childhood. With the experiences I had at such a young age, I believe it really fine-tuned me into being my own person as well as strive for the top no matter the circumstances I am put in. Now, fast forward 14 years: I am competing in both the Mazda MX-5 Cup and the Toyota GR Cup. But before I ever drove a car, I spent years in karting—and that’s where everything began for me. I learned what it takes to win, to lose, and to keep improving no matter what. During my karting career, I have won 15 national championships in sprint karts. These have come across my 12 years of racing, in SKUSA, USPKS, WKA, ROK, and other series. Those experiences shaped me not just as a driver but as a competitor. Karting taught me how to stay calm under pressure, how to race smart, and how to keep fighting even when things don’t go your way. Moving Into Cars In 2023, I made the jump into professional car racing with Copeland Motorsports in the Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup. It was a big step up with zero experience, but I quickly found my rhythm and learned a lot about what comes with racing at this level. In 2024, I joined McCumbee McAleer Racing (MMR) and had one of my best seasons yet — winning at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta while also sweeping V.I.IR and finishing third in the championship. Now in 2025, I am the current and youngest ever Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup Champion, while also being the youngest winner of the Martinsville, Virginia, is For Lovers 300 in the Mazda MX-5 Cup. Also, racing with Copeland Motorsports again—this time in the Toyota GR Cup, alongside my ongoing MX-5 Cup program. Lastly, I became a 2025 Rok Vegas winner by finding a last-minute ride! Competing in two series mainly has pushed me to adapt, learn faster, and keep growing as a driver. Looking Ahead Every season, my goal is to take another step forward—not just in results, but in experience. I want to continue climbing through the ranks of professional motorsport, with my eyes set on making it to IMSA endurance and GT racing in the future. I’m thankful to be part of such a competitive environment that has made me better in every way. This is just the beginning, and I’m excited for what’s next. Thank You to My Partners I couldn’t do this without the incredible support from my partners and sponsors: The Holster Store, Furniture One, Simpson, Paene Investments, and everyone who believes in me at Jeremy Fletcher Racing. • Fletcher crowned VIR king with fourth Virginian MX-5 Cup win in a row | Jeremy Fletcher Raci

< Back Fletcher crowned VIR king with fourth Virginian MX-5 Cup win in a row RACER Staff Aug 24, 2025 4 for 4 Sunday’s Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin race was a near repeat of Saturday’s, with Jeremy Fletcher (No. 22 McCumbee McAleer Racing) taking the win behind the safety car. Securing his fourth straight win at VIRginia International Raceway propelled Fletcher into the championship lead. Like Saturday’s race, a rookie started from pole: Helio Meza (No. 27 BSI Racing). The previous day’s polesitter, Justin Adakonis (No. 23 McCumbee McAleer Racing), started from last after swapping to a backup car. Fletcher had a tremendous start and was able to take over the lead on lap two, while Meza was busy trying to hold off Ethan Goulart (No. 29 Saito Motorsport Group). Fletcher had to hang on through two restarts from yellow, but was saved by the last full-course yellow, which brought the race to an end behind the safety car. “Sweeping the weekend for the second time was definitely a nice feeling,” Fletcher said. “I can't thank Dalton Dow enough for being on the radio with me, and he got me both these wins today, calling these cautions. I want to thank the entire McCumbee McAleer Racing crew. They've given me the fastest car all year, and I just got to turn the steering wheel and hit the brake pedal sometimes. I’m super thankful for all of them. This means a lot to me, especially getting the points lead. “I definitely owe Gresham [Wagner],” Fletcher added. “He should have probably won that race. He had the pace.” With only two more races to go, Fletcher now leads the points championship by 150 points and is that much closer to winning the $250,000 prize from Mazda. Previous Next
